Cooking 101

The purpose of the event is to address and discuss food insecurity, financial literacy, build cooking skills, and make free HIV & Hep C testing available to 20 participants. We hope that through this event we are able to help give participants life hacks but also reduce their vulnerability to financial abuse, and increase their awareness about sexual health.

This will be a two-hour event. There will be instruction by Love Doesn’t Hurt, OUTMemphis, and South Memphis Farmers Market will lead the cooking class. An effort to provide tangible resources to the participants, they will be able to take the food cooked and we want to provide a $20 food voucher for them to shop at the Farmers Market after the lesson to take items home as well.
